Profit of the Armenian banking system in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 24.9% to 100.6 billion drams

YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. The net profit of the Armenian banking system in the first quarter of 2025 exceeded 100.6 billion drams, increasing by 24.9% compared to the first quarter of 2024. This is evidenced by data from the reports of Armenian banks published in accordance with international IFRS standards.

At the same time, compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, according to the results of which the net profit of banks amounted to more than 103.9 billion drams, a decline of 3.2% was recorded.

It should be noted that all 17 banks operating in Armenia ended the first three months of the year with a profit. At the same time, 12 banks increased their profit compared to the same period last year, and 5 banks saw a decrease in profit. The total assets of Armenian banks as of 31.03.2025 amounted to 11,275.4 billion drams (an increase of 23.2% compared to the same period last year, and of 2.36% compared to the fourth quarter of 2024).

The volume of credit investments of banks amounted to 6,424.0 billion drams, having increased by 32.4% compared to the first quarter of 2024, and by 3.9% compared to the previous, fourth quarter of 2024.

Total liabilities in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to 9,336 billion drams, having increased by 22.3% compared to the first quarter of last year, and by 1.7% compared to the previous quarter.

The volume of total capital of Armenian banks as of 31.03.2025. amounted to 1,898.8 billion drams, an increase of 25.1% compared to the first quarter of last year and 6.9% compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. -0-
