Deposits in commercial banks of Armenia at the end of June amounted to 6.7 trillion drams

YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. According to the National Statistical Committee, the volume of deposits in all 17 Armenian commercial banks at the end of June 2025 amounted to 6,693,323 million drams, up from 6,665,578 million drams in May.


Deposits from non-residents totaled 1.53 trillion drams, down from 1.63 trillion drams in May. Deposits from residents totaled 5.16 trillion drams, up from 5.03 trillion drams in May.


The report notes that deposits from non-residents included demand deposits (including accounts) and term deposits from non-resident organizations, households, nonprofit organizations, and nonbank financial organizations.


Of the 3.32 trillion drams in resident deposits (3.24 trillion drams in May), demand deposits (including accounts) stood at 1.47 trillion drams (1.41 trillion drams in May) and term deposits stood at 1.44 trillion drams (1.42 trillion drams in May).


Of the 1.83 trillion drams in foreign currency deposits of residents (1.78 trillion drams in May), demand deposits (including accounts) stood at 770.2 billion drams in June (747.5 billion drams in May), while time deposits stood at 1.06 trillion drams (1.04 trillion drams in May).


The balance of deposits attracted from the population in Armenian banks at the end of June 2025 was 2,994,796 AMD, which was 37,414 AMD, or 1.27%, more than the previous month and 367,548 AMD, or 14%, more than the same period in 2024.


In June, the interest rate on commercial bank deposits was 8.05% (7.86% in May). (1 USD = 383.65 AMD).-0-
