EDB forecasts continued high economic growth in Armenia until the end of 2025

YEREVAN, December 1. /ARKA/. According to the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts, Armenia’s economic growth will remain high until the end of 2025.

According to the EDB’s macroeconomic review, economic activity in Armenia accelerated to 8.1% y/y in January–October 2025, following 7.6% y/y in January–September.

“Growth was driven by the services sector (+10.8% y/y) and construction (+20.6% y/y). The acceleration was also driven by strong growth in the industrial sector (+17.9% y/y in October),” the study notes.

It notes that negative export and import dynamics persisted in January–October (-44.3% y/y and -31.2% y/y, respectively), following the high figures of the previous year.

Armenia’s economic growth projected in the 2025 state budget is 5.1%. According to the Central Bank, Armenia’s GDP growth is expected to be 5.8-5.7% by the end of 2025, 5.7-6.2% in 2026, and 5-6.3% in 2027, depending on scenarios A and B.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts Armenia’s GDP growth at 5.5% in 2025. The World Bank expects it to grow by 5.2% in 2025, the IMF -by 4.8%, the EBRD -by 5%, and the ADB -by 6%.

Fitch Ratings forecasts Armenia’s economic growth at 4.9% in 2025, while the UN expects it to grow by 5.2%. -0-
