OVIO Data Center and IDBank Launch Strategic Partnership

YEREVAN, December 2. /ARKA/. The OVIO data processing center and the IDBank have announced the launch of a strategic partnership. The IDBank has deployed part of its highly available and disaster-resistant server infrastructure in OVIO’s modern data center, aiming to increase the reliability, security and uninterrupted operation of its information systems.

This partnership is an important event for the financial sector of Armenia, as one of the leaders of the banking sector displays trust in the high availability of its information systems and data security to a local infrastructure built according to international standards.

It is worth noting that OVIO’s data center is the only one in Armenia that has a TIER III certificate for IT infrastructure reliability, as well as a certificate of compliance with the international Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

The latter is a globally recognized standard and certifies the maximum security of the storage, processing and transmission of cardholder data in payment systems. The cooperation between the OVIO Data Center and IDBank once again proves that the OVIO Data Center fully meets the strict requirements set for financial organizations.

“The financial sector’s trust in our infrastructure is the highest assessment for us. We are pleased to partner with IDBank and are ready to provide a reliable environment in compliance with international standards, which will allow the bank to focus on its core business – providing innovative financial services to customers. We are constantly developing the capabilities of the OVIO Data Center and improving the services provided, creating a reliable and secure environment for organizations and structures for whose activities the safe storage of data is of great importance. We are confident that this cooperation will become a good precedent for the financial sector of Armenia to ensure maximum data security without large investments,” said Hayk Faramazyan, General Director of OVIO.

The OVIO data center provides IDBank with an environment where power supply and cooling systems are guaranteed through two independently powered substations, multi-level physical security with biometric access control, round-the-clock monitoring and professional service in accordance with international standards, which ensure the highest level of data protection.

“At IDBank, we attach great importance to the reliability and uninterrupted operation of our Information Systems. Security is the basis of every service provided to our customers, and to ensure this, we cooperate with partners who have capabilities and experience approved by international standards. The strategic partnership with the OVIO data processing center is an important step on the way to strengthening our technological infrastructure, developing innovative solutions and providing our customers with more secure and quality services,” said Mher Abrahamyan, Chairman of the Board of IDBank CJSC.

OVIO continues to invest in creating a strong ecosystem for data management and storage in Armenia, contributing to business development and the progress of the country’s digital economy.

The OVIO data processing center is the largest in Armenia and was put into commercial operation in 2024 in the town of Abovyan, Kotayk region.

Given its strategic importance for the country, the investment program of the data processing center  has been approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia and included in the “Infrastructure for Investments” program of the Ministry of Economy.

The capacity of the data processing center is 2 MW. It is connected to the Armenian energy system by 2 substations with a capacity of 35 kW and 110 kW each, independently powered from each other, and is equipped with two diesel generators, which guarantee the uninterrupted operation of the center.

The center has ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, PCI DSS payment data security certificates and is the only one in Armenia that has a Tier III international certificate. The OVIO data center houses 216 server cabinets.-0-
