YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. An agreement between the Armenian Ministry of Finance and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) on the “Provision of Technical Assistance” was signed in Yerevan during a meeting between Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan and Chairman of the EDB Board of Directors Nikolay Podguzov.
According to the Ministry of Finance’s press service, the agreement is aimed, among other things, at enhancing the professional qualifications of personnel in line with international best practices.
It includes an assessment of gaps in the institutional environment, the development of optimal financial structure models, targeted training, and international APMG certification.
It also includes the development of infrastructure and technical equipment for the public-private partnership center, which will contribute to the efficiency of work processes and improve the investment climate in Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current and prospects for developing cooperation between Armenia and the EDB, emphasizing the importance of deepening this collaboration. It was noted that from 2023 to 2025, the Bank implemented 24 successful projects in Armenia, which significantly stimulated the development of various sectors, particularly private economic activity.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue effective cooperation and implement new initiatives and joint projects.
According to the EDB, the Bank’s accumulated investments in Armenia since 2010 amount to $639 million. For the period 2022-2025, the Bank’s total investments (actual volume) in Armenia will amount to $380 million.
