Armenia among CIS countries with lowest average annual inflation

YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. In Jan-Sept 2009, Armenia found itself among the CIS countries with the lowest average annual inflation, the Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States reports.

Armenia recorded 2.9% average annual inflation and placed seventh in the CIS list.
According to the statistical report, the Commonwealth’s year-on-year increase in consumer prices averaged 12% in Jan-Sept 2009.

Consumer prices in Armenia grew 0.7% in September, compared with August.
The report says all the CIS countries faced inflation in Jan-Sept 2009.
Moldova’s consumer prices climbed slightly – 0.2%.

Azerbaijan recorded 2.1% price rise.

Tajikistan faced 7.2% inflation and Kazakhstan 7.8%.

The highest increase in consumer prices was recorded in Ukraine – 16.8%, then in Belarus – 13.9%, Russia – 12.5% and Kyrgyzstan – 9.1%.

The total net profit (after tax) of Armenian banks in Q1 2026 amounted to AMD 103.48 billion, compared to AMD 101.18 billion in Q1 2025, an increase of 2.27%. Moreover, compared to the previous quarter, Q4 2025, the increase was 5.84%.

Assets of Armenian banks increased by 16.67% to 13.15 trillion drams as of the end of Q1 2026

Total assets of Armenian banks as of March 31, 2026, amounted to 13.1 trillion drams, an increase of 16.67% compared to March 31, 2025.
