Armenian Dram Strengthens 2.3 Points against Dollar in May

YEREVAN, May 31. /ARKA/. Market prices in Armenia went 1% up, and the national currency strengthened 2.3% against the US dollar on the foregn exchange in May, compared with April, National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.

Consumer prices and Armenian dram exchange rate rose 5.3% and 1.3% accordingly in May 2010, compared with December 2009.

They climbed 5.5% and 21% in May 2010, compared with the same month a year earlier.

In May 2010, one dollar traded at AMD 385.58 on average (3.5% rise, compared with May 2009, when the US currency traded at AMD 372.46).—0—
