Individual non-commercial remittances to Armenian in Jan.-Oct. slash by 3%

YEREVAN, December 7, /ARKA/. The volume of individual non-commercial remittances to Armenian via banks in the first ten months of 2010 has slashed by 3% (or $38,600) year-on-year to $1.267.3 billion, the Central Bank of Armenia said in a statement posted on its official website.

The volume of remittances from Armenia to other countries dropped by 4.7% to $580 million from $608.8 million from a year before, it said. The net inflow of remittances also fell to $687.2 million from $697 million in the first ten months of 2009. Russia as always accounted for the largest volume of remittances – $741.2 million.
