Majority of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group customers using internet banking are young women

YEREVAN, December 23, /ARKA/. A recent study conducted by Areximbank-Gazprombank Group has found that the majority of its customers using Internet banking service are young people (mostly young women) aged 20-30, living in the capital Yerevan.

The bank said in a press release that the study was conducted among its customers using Internet banking service that was installed a year ago. Asked why they used Internet banking service the majority said they used it to check their account. All said that this service allows them to save time and besides it is available 24 hours a day and at any corner of the world.

According to the study’s results, Internet-banking service was given 4 points on a five-point scale. The study was conducted to assess the efficiency of this still relatively new service and to also build a portrait of a potential Internet banking user. The study embraced 150 people.

Internet banking enables bank’s customers to manage their accounts, to pay off a loan, make money transfers and pay utilities. Currently Areximbank-Gazprombank Group has 200 Internet banking users.

Areximbank-Gazprombank Group (formerly Areximbank) was established in 1998 to handle financial flows between Armenia and Russia. It is a principled member of VISA International and MasterCard International payment systems. In 2007 it joined Armenian ArCa payment system. The bank is owned fully by Russian Gazprombank and has 6 branches in Yerevan and 9 in regions. According to its press release, on October 1 its credit portfolio was 42.5 billion Drams. In 2009 it successfully completed the process of migration to GazCardService, the processing center of its parent Gazprombank and this year it has shifted to electronic document turnover. -0-
