Armenian banks buy January 24-27 some $87.1 million and sell $91.5 million

YEREVAN, January 27. / ARKA /. Armenian commercial banks bought January 24-27 a total of $87.1 million at the local inter-bank fore in exchange market at an average weighted exchange rate of 363.83 Drams per one USD, the Central Bank of Armenia reported. It said the banks sold in the same time span a total of $91.5 million at 365.41 Drams per one USD.

The total amount of deals in USD at NASDAQ OMX Armenia exchange in the same period of time was $21.9 million. The average weighted exchange rate was 363.23 Drams per one USD. The Central Bank said $4.1 million worth deals on purchase and sale of USD were effected at intra-bank market at an average weighted exchange rate of 364.86 Drams per one USD. The banks also provided 17.8 billion Drams worth loans on January 24-27 in Armenia’s national currency and also $21.9 million loans in USD. -0-
