Armenian commercial banks send over AMD 13 billion to government budget in 2010

YEREVAN, February 3. /ARKA/. Twenty commercial banks found themselves in the State Revenue Committee’s 2010 list of largest taxpayers of Armenia. They transferred over AMD 13 billion to the government budget in 2010.

In 2009, 21 banks sent more than AMD 17 billion to the government budget.
The difference is due to the merger of Cascade Bank with Ameriabank on June 18, 2010.

The committee says direct taxes paid by banks totaled AMD 11.5 billion in 2010. Their share in the structure of all taxes was 88.3%.

They accounted for 3% of total amount paid by 1,000 large taxpayers.

ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank, with its AMD 2.5 billion transferred to the government budget, is the leader among banks and ranks 24th among the country’s largest taxpayers.

HSBC Bank Armenia, with AMD 1.2 billion, was placed 58th in the State Revenue Committee’s ranking.

VTB Bank (Armenia), with AMD 914.3 million, came 73rd.

Armbusinessbank and Ameriabank were placed 54th and 55th for paying AMD 1.3 billion and 1.26 billion respectively.

Unibank and Ardshininvestbank found themselves among top 100 taxpayers. They ranked 75th and 96th for paying about AMD 890 million and AMD 741.1 million respectively.

As a whole, 1,000 large taxpayers transferred AMD 432.8 billion to the government budget in 2010 against AMD 382.8 billion in 2009. ($1 = AMD 364.75). -0-
