Monetary base in Armenia shrinks 8.7% to AMD 463.2 billion

YEREVAN, March 1. /ARKA/. Monetary base in Armenia shrank 8.7% or by AMD 44338 million over January to AMD 463.2 billion.

According to the National Statistical Service’s report based on the central bank’s preliminary figures, cash outside of the central bank totalled AMD 312.9 billion in late January 2011 against AMD 348.2 billion in late December 2010.

Required reserves in drams totaled AMD 66.6 billion in January against AMD 57.5 billion in late December, and those in drams amounted to AMD 70.2 billion against AMD 88.2 billion.

Net international reserves less funds from privatization totaled AMD 427.7 billion in late January after contracting by 5.2% or AMD 28.4 billion, compared with December.

Net internal assets totaled AMD 35.5 billion against AMD 56.4 billion. ($1 = AMD 367.37).-0-
