Armenia had one of highest inflation rate of 10.6% among CIS countries

YEREVAN, March 9, /ARKA/. Armenia had one of the highest inflation rise of 10.6% among other former Soviet constituent republics making the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in a time span between 2010 January and 2011 January, according to the latest numbers, revealed by the CIS Statistical Committee.

According to these numbers, the average inflation in CIS during that period of time was 9.5%. The Armenian inflation in January 2011 rose by 2.8% from 2010 December, while the average inflation rise in CIS was 2%. The highest inflation of 20.6% between January 2010 and January 2011 was in Kyrgyzstan. It was followed by Tajikistan with 11.2%, followed by Belarus –  10.6% , Russia– 9.6%, Azerbaijan – 8.3% and Ukraine -8.2%. Inflation in Kazakhstan and Moldova rose by 8.1% and 6.7% respectively. No data on Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were available. -0-
