The number of Armenian banks’ customers grows by 0.2% in 2010 to over 1.1 million

YEREVAN, May 5, /ARKA/. The number of Armenian commercial banks’ customers grew by 0.2% in 2010 or by 2,000 people to overall 1,137,800, according to figures, published by the Central Bank of Armenia in a report called Financial System of Armenia; Development, Regulation and Oversight. According to the report, 1, 068, 200 were individual customers and 69,200 corporate clients.

The number of customers’ current and fixed accounts grew last year by 17.1% to 1, 804,000, of which 1,669,000 were individual accounts and 135,000 corporate accounts. The report says also that the number of individual accounts rose by 17.2% and that of corporate clients by 16%. There are 21 banks in Armenia operating a total of 411 branches.
