Total capital of insurance companies in Armenia surge by 21.7% year-on-year to 14.1 billion drams

YEREVAN, August 24. / ARKA /. In the first half of 2011 the total capital of insurance companies in Armenia surged by 21.7% year-on-year or by 2.5 billion drams to 14.1 billion drams, according the findings of an analysis made by ARKA news agency.

The leading company in terms of capital size was Rosgosstrakh-Armenia. On 30 June its total capital stood at 2.4 billion drams, having doubled in the first half. This company’s capital accounted for 17.2% of the aggregate capital of all insurance companies in Armenia. The list of the five top companies by size of capital included also Ingo Armenia with more than 1.9 billion drams (13.76% of the aggregate capital of all insurance companies), Nairi Insurance with about 1.8 billion drams (12.4%), Rasco with more than 1.7 billion drams (12.1%) and Cascade Insurance with about 1.7 billion drams (12%).

In terms of authorized capital the top three companies were Cascade Insurance (more than 1.7 billion drams), Rosgosstrakh-Armenia (about 1.7 billion drams) and Guarantor Limens (1.6 billion drams).
