Combined lending of Armenian to resident economy grows by 2.5% to overall 1.1 trillion drams

YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. The combined lending of Armenia-based banks to resident economy grew by 2.5% (or 28.2 billion drams) at late November from the previous month to an overall 1.116.9 trillion drams, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Central Bank of Armenia.

The largest portion of lending -23.4% or 272.3 billion drams, – was channeled into trade. The growth from October was 4.5%. Some 23.3% of the overall lending (271 billion drams) was provided to industry, a 2.7% increase from October. Some 17.8% or 206.6 billion drams were lent as consumer loans. Their share from October grew by 2.2%. Mortgage loans grew by 2% from October to 107.6 billion drams as of late November.

Lending to construction sector grew by 3.5% to 90.5 billion drams. Loans provided to agricultural sector dropped by 2% to 68.7 billion drams, loans to services sector grew by 2.9% to 54.3 billion drams and loans to transport and communications sector fell by 3.8% to 39.1 billion drams.
