Armenian households’ deposits in foreign currencies at local banks amount to 331.1 billion drams

YEREVAN, January 17, /ARKA/. Armenian households’ deposits in foreign currencies kept at local commercial banks amounted to 331.1 billion drams at the end of 2011 November, the Central Bank said.

The figure represented a 4% rise form the previous month. Time deposits in foreign currency grew by 4.4% from October to 268.4 billion drams making 81% of all deposits.

Household deposits in Armenian national currency were said to have grown by 3.8% from October to 130 billion drams. The overall amount of deposits kept at 21 commercial banks increased 2.5% to 924 billion drams, the Central Bank said. ($1 – 389 drams). -0-
