ArCa payment system used in 2011 to make 446.6 million drams worth transactions

YEREVAN, February 21. / ARKA /. Armenian Card (ArCA) payment system was used in 2011 to make a total of 466.6 million drams worth cashless transactions through ATMs. The figure represented a dramatic rise -31.2 times- from January 2011. The number of cashless transactions rose by 3.6 times.

ArCa payment system was used also in January this year to make 51,442 Internet payments, down by 33.6% from January 2011. The total sum of these transactions exceeded 418.7 million drams, which is 11.8% more from a year earlier. The system was used to make also 5,895 card-to-card money transfers worth 420 million drams, by 52.3% down from a year earlier.

Armenian Card CJSC was established on March 16, 2000 as a united national payment system. Today 19 of Armenia’s 21 commercial banks participate in ArCa payment system. The company is a full member of MasterCard Europe international payment system.  It also processes VISA and American Express (Third Party Processor) cards ($1 – 388.99 drams). -0-
