Interest rates on corporate deposits in foreign currency decrease by 0.4 pp in January

YEREVAN, February 27. /ARKA/. The average interest rate on corporate deposits in foreign currencies in January 2012 decreased by 0.4% from January 2011 to  6.6%, the Central Bank of Armenia said in a statement posted on its official website. It said the interest rate on corporate long-term deposits in foreign currencies fell by 0.4 percentage points to 8%, and  the rate on short-term deposits dropped by 0.4 p.p. to 5.2%.

According to the statement, the interest rate on corporate long term deposits in Armenian currency dropped by 1.6 p.p. to 8.8%, and increased by 1.9 p.p. on short-term deposits to an average 9.9%. ($1 -389.32 drams.-0-
