Banks’ lending to education fetches up nearly AMD 2.9 bln in Armenia

YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. Lending to education totaled in nearly 2.9 billion drams as of late May, up by 16.5% from April 30, the website of Armenia’s Central Bank shows.

The commercial banks allocated loans mainly in foreign currency (88%) that totaled in nearly 2.5 billion drams, higher by 20% from April.

At the same time consumer lending climbed by 3.2% to nearly 255.1 billion drams within the reported period.

As of May 31, 2012, there are 21 commercial banks in Armenia. ($1 – 417.64 drams). –0–
