Commercial banks bought $71.61 million at local forex market on August 20-24

YEREVAN, August 24,. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks bought a total of $71.61 million at the local forex market on August 20-24 at the average exchange rate of 409.92 drams per one USD, the Central Bank of Armenia told ARKA. It said the banks bought also about7.5 million euros at 508.39 drams exchange rate per one euro and over 850.1 million Russian rubles at 12.73 drams rate per one ruble.

In the same time span the banks sold over $92.7 million at 410.979 drams rate, about €9.8 million at 511.35 drams exchange rate and 87 million rubles at 12.94 drams exchange rate per one ruble.
Besides, from August 13 to 19 the banks provided 27.9 billion drams worth loans in Armenian currency and $43.7 million loans in USD. ($1 – 409.40 drams). -0-
