Armenian banks’ 3Q investment portfolio hikes 6.5% to AMD 162.4 bln

YEREVAN, November 15. /ARKA/. Investment portfolio of Armenia’s commercial banks rose 6.5% to 162.4 billion drams in the third quarter from a quarter earlier.

According to the interim financial reports of the bank, sales investments had the highest share in their investment portfolio- 76.3% or over 123.9 billion drams.

Financial investments for commercial purposes were nearly 16.3 billion drams or 10% of the total investments. The loans, which were not used before the end of the maturity period, totaled 13.44% or over 21.9 billion drams of all investments.

The share of investments in the total equity of the controlled entities totaled 0.2% or 349 million drams, according to the report.

Leader in investment portfolio volume is HSBC Bank Armenia (31.4 billion drams). The second is Armbusinessbank – 20 billion drams and Armswissbank- 16.5 billion drams.

As of 30 September 2012 there are 21 commercial banks. ($1 – 408.77 drams).—0-
