Armenian Central Bank’s 3Q losses hike 3.5%, equity capital down 30.5%

YEREVAN, November 16. /ARKA/. Equity capital of Armenia’s Central Bank downed 30.5% throughout the third quarter to 8.7 billion drams as of 30 September versus 12.6 billion drams at the second quarter, according to the CB 3 Q financial stability report.

At the same time, the losses of the CBA rose 3.5% to 115.1 billion drams from 2 Q’s111.1 billion drams.

The general reserve and additional capital remained unchanged, 17.4 billion drams and 107.5 billion drams respectively. The share premium of the CBA also stayed at the same 100 million drams.

The combined liabilities and equity of the Central Bank rose to 1 098,1 billion drams against 2 Q’s 1 096,8 billion, according to the report. ($1 – 407.71 drams).—0-

Central Bank leaves refinancing rate unchanged taking into account high uncertainty in US economic policy

The Central Bank of Armenia decided today to leave the refinancing rate unchanged at 6.75% taking into account a set of factors such as  the continued high uncertainty surrounding the US economic policy, declining confidence in the global economy, growth slowdown and  a possible  weakening demand in Armenia, the head of the regulator Martin Galstyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.
