Armenian banks’ investments in government bonds grew to 157.1 billion drams in late October

YEREVAN, December 13. / ARKA /. Armenian banks’ investments in government bonds grew to 157.1 billion drams in late October, 16.2% up from September, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Central Bank of Armenia.

According to the statement, Armenian residents’ investments in government bonds stood at 234.6 billion drams, a 4.7% rise from the previous month.

The banks accounted for almost 67 percent of all investments in government bonds. The Central Bank of Armenia’s share stood at 22.7% and the share of non-bank agents, dealers and investors was 10.3%.

According to the statement, the total investments of residents and nonresidents in government bonds in late October stood at 234.8 billion drams. ($ 1 – 405.98 drams).  -0-
