Trade lending by Armenia’s Banks hiked 18.1% to AMD 333.4 bln in 2012

YEREVAN, February 27. /ARKA/. Trade lending by Armenia’s commercial banks upped by 18.1% as of December 31 to about 333.4 billion drams from 2011.

According to the 4Q interim financial reports released by the banks, economy lending stood at over 1.5 trillion drams as of December 31 against 1.26 trillion drams in 2011.

ARKA agency’s research showed HSBC Bank Armenia as a top trade  lender. The trade loans provided by this bank accounted for  12.7% of the total trade lending.
Industrial loans accounted for over 32.7% of HSBC Bank Armenia credit portfolio or over 42.5 billion drams (33.8 billion drams at 2011’s out).

Some other top banks here are VTB Bank (Armenia) (nearly 35 billion drams), Ameriabank (33.8 billion drams) and ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK (about 29.1 billion drams).
Trade lending accounted for 22.2%, 23.1% и 18.2% of these banks’ credit portfolios respectively.
As of December 31, 2012 there are 21 banks with 479 branches in Armenia. ($1 – 409.13 drams). —0-
