Armbusinessbank chairman not going to complain to police

YEREVAN, June 18. / ARKA /. The chairman of Armenian Armbusinessbank, Sergei Arzumanyan, is not going to file a complaint with the police in connection with media reports claiming that he was beaten in his office room, the police said today.

Earlier a local daily Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Time) reported that several young men stormed into Arzumanyan’s office on June 10 evening and severely beat him and then left the bank. It said Arzumanian, who was beaten beyond recognition, ran out of the room too. The daily said that about half an hour before the incident Arzumanyan had a heated phone conversation with an unknown person.

“The Yerevan Police managed to get in touch with Arzumanyan on the phone who said he had no problems to complain to the police,” the police said in a statement. -0-
