Armenia’s commercial banks extended 130.2bln drams in mortgage loans in April

YEREVAN, June 19. /ARKA/. Mortgage credits extended by Armenia’s commercial banks totaled about 130.2 billion drams as of the end of April, a reduction of 0.2% compared to March, says the monthly information guidebook of Armenia’s Central Bank for April.

According to the monthly data, dram loans alone totaled 63.9 billion drams, an increase of 0.9% compared to March; loans in foreign currency were 66.2 billion drams, a reduction of 1.2% against the month before.

Share of mortgage loans in banks’ overall credit portfolio was 7.9%.

Armenian commercial banks’ lending to resident economy amounted to over 1,634.1 billion drams as of the end of April, an increase of 0.5% against March level.

There were 21 commercial banks registered in Armenia as of April 30. ($1=412.51drams).–0–
