Armenian Bank plastic card transactions abroad dropped by 9.5% to 4.5 bln drams in May

YEREVAN, July 24. /ARKA/. Total volume of transactions abroad via all plastic cards issued by Armenian commercial banks amounted to 4.5 billion drams in May, a reduction of 9.5% over the month, reads the monthly bulletin of the Armenia’s Central Bank for May 2013.

Number of transactions was 84,820 (3.2% reduction).

Non-cash card transactions amounted 3 billion drams over the period (6.7% reduction.

Encashment through plastic cards amounted to 1.4 billion drams (15% reduction).

There are currently 21 commercial banks operating in the territory of Armenia. Of them, 19 are members of ArCa united payment system. ($1=409.97drams). –0—
