Three companies paid 46.8% of compensation payments for damages from traffic accidents in eight months

YEREVAN, September 23. / ARKA /. Three major Armenian insurance companies paid 46.8% of all compensation payments for damages caused by 34,898 traffic accidents involving mandatory insured cars in the first eight months of this year, which amounted to 4.6 million drams, the Bureau of Car Insurers said in a statement, posted on its official website.

According to the statement, total compensations paid by all insurance companies in the reporting period of time amounted to about 6.8 billion drams.

Rosgosstrakh-Armenia company was said to have paid over 2.270 billion drams in compensations, more than any other company. It was followed by Ingo Armenia, which paid about 1.5 billion drams, and Reso, which paid over 882 million drams. The statement says insurance losses in January-August  amounted to 73%, 1 percent less than in January-July.

The mandatory insurance against physical damage caused to other cars and individuals became mandatory in Armenia on January 1, 2011.  ($1- 406.71 drams).-0-
