Total assets of Armenian credit organizations grew by 3.6 percent to 196.4 billion drams

YEREVAN, November 11. / ARKA /. The total assets of Armenian credit organizations as of late September grew by 3.6 percent from the year before to 196.4 billion drams, the Central Bank said in a survey of their activities in the third quarter.

According to the survey, the organizations’ amount of cash amounted to 854.8 million drams, an increase of 35.4 % from the same time span last year, while their current accounts in banks increased by 15.4 % to 7.6 billion drams.

The organizations’ lending to corporate customers declined by 2% to 25.9 billion drams, while lending to individuals in the reporting period increased by 2.2 % to more than 89.4 billion drams. The organizations also reported a 2.6 percent decline in leasing and factoring to 8.9 billion drams. Loans to employees and affiliated persons increased by 10.7 % to about 4.1 billion drams.

Claims to banks and other financial institutions amounted to more than 51.9 billion drams having increased by 7.9 %.

At the end of September 2013 the value of other assets of credit organizations amounted to more than 6 billion drams having increased by 5% year-on-year. The size of accrued interest amounted to more than 1.5 billion drams (up 4.3%).
