Armenia’s commercial banks purchase over $97.4mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, November 25. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased more than $97.4mln at a weighted average rate of 404.25 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on November 18 – 22, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 8.9mln euros and over 824.3mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 543.55drams per €1 and 12.26drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $103.2mln, about €12.5 mln and about 96.5 mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 405.35drams, 547.49drams and 12.43drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (November 11-17) totalled 36.9bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $55.1mln. ($1=404.64drams). –0–

Armenian commercial banks paid 28.65 billion drams in various taxes in Q1

All 17 Armenia-based commercial banks are included in the list of the 1,000 largest taxpayers in the first quarter of 2026, having paid a total of 28.65 billion drams to the state budget, according to data released today by the State Revenue Committee.
