Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $100.3 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, August 4. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $100.3mln at a weighted average rate of 405.75drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on July 28 – August 2, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, over 7.5 mln euros and 1,024.3 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 543.37 drams per €1 and 11.33 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $111.8mln, about €14.2mln and 135.5mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 406.83drams, 547drams and 11.49drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (July 21-27) totalled about 28.1bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $37.1mln. ($1=406.82drams). –0–
