Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $83.1 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, August 25. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $83.1mln at a weighted average rate of 407.46drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on August 19-23, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, over 6mln euros and about 1.1bln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 541.14 drams per €1 and 11.2 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $114.4mln, €13.5mln and 124.9mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 408.55drams, 545.11drams and 11.35drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (August 11-17) totalled 32.7bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $52.1mln. ($1=408.71drams). –0–
