Transactions totaling AMD 6.8 billion made abroad by using Armenian banks’ plastic cards

YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. Some 132,700 transactions were made by using Armenian commercial banks’ plastic cards outside of the country in July 2014 (about 12.9% month-on-month growth), the Central Bank of Armenia says in a fresh issue of its monthly bulletin.

These transactions totaled AMD 6.8 billion – a 17.3% month-on-month growth.

Non-cash transactions amounted to over AMD 4.9 billion – 27% more than in June 2014.

According to the report, AMD 1.87 billion was withdrawn in July 2014 abroad by using Armenian banks’ plastic cards – 2.4% less than in June 2014.

Twenty one commercial banks operating in Armenia’s territory provided and served plastic cards in late July 2014. Of them, 19 are participants of ArCa payment system. ($1 – AMD 409.69). –0–
