Top 10 armenian banks by size of consume lending

YEREVAN, September 19. / ARKA /. ARKA news agency has released a fresh list of top ten Armenian banks by size of consumer lending in the first half of 2014, whose aggregate consumer loan portfolio stood at 348.4 billion drams in late June, making approximately 83% of the total consumer loan portfolio of all 21 Armenian banks, up from 420.5 billion drams in the same period last year.

The leading bank in terms of consumer lending was VTB Bank (Armenia) with a consumer lending portfolio of 83.1 billion drams, an increase of 33% compared to the same period last year.

The second largest bank by size of consumer lending was ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK with 50.4 billion drams. Its consumer loan portfolio grew by 22.6% from the same period of 2013.
Ardshininvestbank came in third with a consumer lending portfolio of 45.5 billion drams, an increase of 6% year-on-year.

Unibank was fourth with 37.6 billion drams consumer loan portfolio, which was 1.9 times more than in the first half of 2013.

It was followed by Conversebank with 27.7 billion drams consumer lending portfolio (an 11% growth), Inecobank with 27.5 billion drams (an increase of 29.6%) was sixth. ArmBusinessBank with 25.4 billion drams (a rise of 32.8%) was seventh.

Ameriabank with 18 billion drams (up 1.2%) was eighth. It was followed by Armenian Development Bank with 17 billion drams (up 39.3%) and Armeconombank with a consumer loan portfolio of 15.8 billion drams, an increase of 41.5% from the same period last year.

Armenian banking sector’s total assets amounted to about AMD 2.916.8 trillion by June 30, 2014 after shrinking 0.74% since the beginning of this year. Their liabilities dropped by 1.61 percent to 2. 429.6 trillion drams; their combined capital stood at 487.1 billion drams (up 3.85%).

Their credit investments grew by 4.18 percent to 1.859.3 trillion drams from the beginning of the year. The rating was compiled based on quarterly reports of 21 local commercial banks. -0-

100 million euros will be allocated for business development in Armenia: ACBA Bank
