SEF International launches unique platform in Armenia for financing fundr.am projects

YEREVAN, December 18. /ARKA/. SEF International universal credit organization has launched a unique platform in Armenia for financing Fundr.am projects, said Garegin Gevorgyan, director of the SEF International UCO LLC.

“Fundr.am is an inline crowdfunding platform designed for finding various projects and their financing,” he said. “We are planning the widest range of programs without setting any restriction, though either social or business aspects are important to us.”

Gevorgyan said that a strict selection will be made at the website. It means only projects with long-term effect will be presented here.

Thanks to that, promising projects will find their financing quicker than others.

The website was launched a few days ago, but several social, community and charity projects are already presented here.

“Although this is not the first platform of this kind in Armenia, Fundr.am is peculiar for some characteristics,” Gevorgyan said. “In particular, the website’s whole content undergoes filtration and control before being posted here.”

Answering ARKA News Agency’s question in what way the organization intends to attract funds for financing projects under Fundr.am, Gevorgyan said that there are several mechanisms for that – for example, it is possible to make donations via this platform and large organizations may double individual donations.

“Now Fundr.am takes no fee for brokering, but when the platform grows we will set a certain price,” he said.
SEF International UCO LLC has been established by World Vision Christian humanitarian aid, development and advocacy organization.

In 2003, the UCO was licensed by the Central Bank of Armenia. Its only owner is VisionFund International, a specialized microfinance subsidiary of the World Vision.

SEF International has lent over AMD 29.3 billion to more than 72,000 clients since it was established in 1997. It has also contributed to creation and maintenance of 63,000 jobs.

Fundr.am website is a platform for financing projects via Internet, where people may exchange advices and attract financial resources, investing this way in Armenia.

SEF International UCO, the founder of Fundr.am, has a similar experience – the company has attracted $6 million within four years of cooperating with Kiva.org. ($1 – AMD 497). –0–
