Armenia’s commercial banks purchase about $96.4 mln at intra-banking forex market last week

YEREVAN, January 26. /ARKA/. Armenian commercial banks purchased about $96.4 mln at a weighted average rate of 473.59 drams per $1 in intra-banking foreign exchange market on January 19 to 23, the press service of the Central Bank reported.

In the same period, about 7.3 mln euros and about 693.7 mln rubles were purchased on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 547.42 drams per €1 and 7.17 drams per ruble respectively.

At the same time, about $91.4mln, €8.6mln and about 144.8mln rubles were sold on the intra-banking forex market at weighted average exchange rates of 476.76 drams, 555.83drams and 7.48drams respectively.

Dram loans extended by Armenian banks during the week before (January 12-18) totaled about 30.9bln drams; dollar loans amounted to a total of $36.7mln. ($1=471.02drams). –0–
