Introduction of single currency for EEU possible in long -term perspective- expert

YEREVAN, September 3. / ARKA /. Rinat Galitdinov, deputy head of a unit at the Eurasian Economic Union, believes that introduction of a single currency for the Russia-led trade union is possible in the long run perspective.

In an interview with Armenian daily ‘Zhamanak” (Time) he said there were no specific agreements between the member states of the union yet on the introduction of a single currency, but that experts were already working on it.

According to Galitdinov, in a few years the experts will be able to decide whether the union does need a single currency and how that instrument would work.

“Given the fact that the Eurasian Economic Union is a relatively new structure, it is still too early to talk about a single currency for it,’ he said. -0
