Commemorative coins ‘Wild Trees of Armenia’ get highest awarded at Madrid numismatic contest

YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. Commemorative coins “Wild Trees of Armenia” received the “Best Circulated Commemorative Coins – 2015” award of the international numismatic contest in Madrid, organized by the International Association of Currency Affairs, the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia said.

Six types of commemorative coins with nominal value of 200 drams are dedicated to non-fruit-bearing wild trees frequently met in the Armenian woods. The coins were put into circulation on December 29, 2014.

Obverses of the coins depict the sprouts typical for each of the tree-type. The reverse depicts nominal value of the coin.

The depicted species of trees are sycamore, willow, beech, pine and poplar. The commemorative coins were minted in Slovakia. -0-
