Armenian banks bought $55 million in one week

YEREVAN, March 14. /ARKA/. Armenia-based commercial banks bought more than $55 million from the local foreign exchange intra-market from March 9 to 12 at the weighted average exchange rate of 489.75 drams per $1, the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia said.

It said also in the same time span they also bought 7.6 million Euros and about 648.784 billion Russian rubles at weighted average exchange rates of 538.46 per one Euro and 6.82 drams per one ruble.

The banks also sold $52.979 million, €11.33 million and 430.2 million Russian rubles at the weighted average exchange rates of 491.42 drams, 541.18 drams and 6.96 drams respectively.

Besides, from February 29 to March 6 the banks extended about 40.8 billion drams worth loans in the Armenian national currency and $37.7 million in the US currency. ($1 – AMD 490.23). -0—-
