Ranking of Armenian banks by size of capital in quarter one, 2017

YEREVAN, April 26. /ARKA/. ARKA news agency has released a ranking of Armenia-based commercial banks by size of their total capital in the first quarter of 2017.

The combined capital of all 17 banks operating in Armenia in the first quarter of 2017 amounted to 665.5 billion drams, an increase of 0.13% compared to the beginning of the year, and a 16.4% rise if compared to the first quarter of 2016.

According to ARKA, the top five banks by size of capital were Ameriabank, Ardshinbank, ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, HSBC Bank Armenia and Inecobank. These banks accounted for about 42% of the total capital of the banking sector or 279.2 billion drams.

The ranking was compiled based on ARKA news agency’s quarterly bulletin ‘Banks of Armenia’.
