Deposits at Armenian commercial banks grow 0.8% to AMD 2 434 1 billion in April 2017

YEREVAN, June 1. /ARKA/. Aggregate deposits at Armenian commercial banks amounted to AMD 2 434 1 billion in late April 2017 after growing 0.8% over one month, the National Statistical Service reports.

According to the central bank’s data, residents’ deposits totaled AMD 1 817.3 billion in late April showing a 0.8-percent month-on-month growth.

Residents’ deposits in drams grew 1.3% to AMD 741.1 billion and their deposits in foreign currencies grew 0.46% to AMD 1 076.2 billion.

Residents’ demand deposits shrank 1.2% to AMD 233.4 billion, while their time deposits grew 2.5% to AMD 507.6 billion.

Demand deposits in foreign currencies totaled AMD 264.5 billion (0.4% growth) and time deposits AMD 811.6 billion (0.48% growth).

Nonresidents’ deposits in Armenia’s commercial banks grew 0.8% to AMD 611.8 billion by late April. ($1- AMD 482). –0—-
