Armenia’s first half inflation was 0.5 percent

YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. Armenia’s inflation in the first six months of 2017 rose by 0.5% year-on-year, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today.

Prices for food products (including alcoholic beverages and tobacco products) increased by 4.1%, while prices for non-food products and services decreased by 3.1% and by 2.2%, respectively.

The inflation in June 2017 was 1.1% when compared to June 2016. According to the National Statistical Service, in June, when compared to May, a 0.9% deflation was recorded, driven by a decrease of 2.2% in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Armenian government’s projection of inflation for 2017 is 4% (± 1.5%); GDP growth projection is 3.2%. -0-
