Insurance companies collect 13.4 billion drams in 9 months as premiums for mandatory insurance of vehicles

YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. Six Armenia-based insurance companies collected a total of 13.4 billion drams in the first 9 months of 2017 as premiums for mandatory insurance of vehicles and paid 7.9 billion drams in damage compensation claims, according to Arka news agency’s “Insurance Companies of Armenia” bulletin for the third quarter of the outgoing year.

Overall, the companies collected a total of 23.9 billion drams as insurance premiums (2.3% growth from the year before) and paid 12.1 billion drams in damage compensation claims (19.8% growth).

The leading company by size of premiums collected for mandatory insurance of vehicles was Rosgosstrakh-Armenia with 3.462 billion drams. It also paid .2.218 billion drams in damage compensation claims.

It was followed by Nairi Insurance with 2.861 billion drams, collected as premiums for mandatory insurance of cars. It also paid 1.585 billion drams in damage compensation claims.

Ingo Armenia with 2.793 billion drams of collected insurance premiums was third. It also paid 1.584 billion drams in damage compensation claims. Reso insurance company with 1.778 billion drams and 1.054 billion drams respectively was fourth. It was followed by Sil Insurance with 1.590 billion drams and 961 5 million drams respectively and Armenia Insurance with 935.5 million drams and 531.1 million drams respectively was sixth.

Insurance companies’ assets in the first 9 months of 2017 totaled 42.9 billion drams, a decline of 1.1% from the beginning of the year; their liabilities fell by 2.3% to 23.3 billion drams and their capital grew by 0.3% to 19.5 billion drams. ($1 – 483.75 drams). -0-
