Around $79.3 million bought by Armenian banks last week

YEREVAN, January 22. /ARKA/. Armenia’s commercial banks bought around $79.3 million from the local foreign currency market on January 15 to 19 at the average weighted exchange rate of 482 drams per one USD, the Central Bank of Armenia reported on Monday.

It said the banks also bought 13.1 million euros and 1 billion Russian rubles at the average weighted exchange rates of 586.84 and 8.48 drams per one euro and one ruble respectively.

The banks also sold about $78.5 million, € 11.9 million and 471.6 million rubles at average weighted exchange rates of 483.64, 591.11 and 8.59 drams respectively.

No dollar exchange transactions have been effected at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange over the mentioned period.

In addition, from January 8 to 14, the banks have provided 59.2 billion drams worth loans in the national currency and $39.6 million worth loans in USD. ($ 1- AMD 481.96 drams). –0—-
