Armenian banks bought $93.6 million last week

YEREVAN, April 17. /ARKA/. Armenian banks bought a total of $93.6 million at the local inter-bank forex market in a time span from April 9 to April 13 at the weighted average exchange rate of 481.97 drams per one USD, the Central Bank reported today.

It said the banks bought also 9.2 million euros and about 1.1 billion Russian rubles at the weighted average exchange rates of 591.79 drams per € 1 and 7.69 drams per 1 ruble respectively.

In the same time span the banks sold about $97 million, 17.2 million euros and 888.7 million Russian rubles at the weighted average exchange rates of 483.42, 595.87 and 7.91 drams per one USD, one euro and one ruble respectively.

No transaction with US dollars were effected in the same time span at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange.

Besides, from April 2 to April 8 the local banks provided about 46.6 billion drams worth loans in the Armenian national currency and $28.9 million worth loans in USD. ($ 1- 482.92 drams). -0-
