Armenia’s state debt stood at $6.7 billion in late 2017

YEREVAN, May 29. /ARKA/. Armenia’s state debt amounted to $6.7 billion in late December 2017, Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan said today during a parliamentary hearing on the implementation of the government’s budget in 2017.

He said in terms of public debt, Armenia is a country with a low debt load. He said of that amount $6.131 billion is the government’s debt. Today, the country’s state debt makes 58.8% of the GDP, which is also a controlled indicator, according to Janjughazyan said.

Armenia’s total state debt at the end of 2017 stood at $6.774.6 billion, an increase of 14% or $832.5 million compared to the end of 2016. According to the National Statistical Service, Armenia’s economy in 2017 expanded by 7.5%. The government’s projection of GDP for 2018 is 4.5%. -0-
