Central Electoral Committee releases preliminary results of Yerevan city council elections

YEREVAN, September 24. /ARKA/. Tigran Mukuchyan, the chairman of the Central Electoral Committee of Armenia has presented the preliminary results of the Yerevan city council elections.
Of 848, 343 residents eligible to vote, 370 365 people (43.66%) went to the polls on Sunday.

Prosperous Armenia party scored 6.95% of votes, Yerevan Community 0.69%, Yerevan Residents 0.82%, Yerkir Tsirani 1.39%, Heritage, 0.75%, Democratic Way 0.22%, My Step 81.5%, Luys 4.99%, Armenian Revolutionary Federation/Dashnaktsutiun 1.62%, Hayk 0.19%, Reformists Party 0.22% and Orinats Yerkir 1.09%.

The final results will be released on September 30, and before that the committee will be considering complaints.

In accordance with the electoral code, blocs should score at least 8% and parties at least 6% to have members in the city council. However, if less than three parties or blocs manage to score the mentioned percentage, seats will be distributed among the three forces having the maximal number of votes.
