No restrictions for money transfers to Armenia from Russia and Kazakhstan – regulator

YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. The Central Bank of Armenia has denied rumors about restrictions on fast individual money transfers to Armenia from Russia and Kazakhstan. It said Wednesday that it contacted partner organizations and was assured that there were no any restriction for transfers to Armenia, and the existing restrictions set by regulating organizations don’t apply to countries, especially to Armenia.

More than that – it has become known that the refusal to transfer money from Kazakhstan to Armenia is a private case, which is not connected with Armenia. The thing is that the sum subject to transfer exceeded the set limits.

According to the central bank, the remittances sent to individuals in Armenia via Armenia’s banks totaled $391.4 million in Jan-March 2019, showing a 9.26% year-on-year growth. -0—
