Armenian banks’ transfers to government budget built up 12.3% in 2019

YEREVAN, February 1. /ARKA/. All the banks operating in Armenia have found themselves in the State Revenue Committee’s list of the 1,000 biggest taxpayers of the country. They have sent AMD 54.6 billion to the government budget in 2019 against AMD 48.6 billion a year before.

According to the committee’s data, banks transferred AMD 22.4 billion as profit tax, AMD 29.2 billion as income tax, AMD 3.8 billion as VAT and AMD 2.8 billion as other taxes and duties.

Ameriabank is singled out among Armenia’s banks for the largest payment to the government budget – it has transferred AMD 8.6 billion in 2019 and was placed 19th in the list of 1,000 biggest taxpayers. ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, with its AMD 6.7 billion ranked second among banks and 23rd among the country’s taxpayers, Armbusinessbank, with AMD 4.9 billion, came third and 37th respectively, Inecobank, with AMD 4.9 billion, fourth and 38th and Ardshinbank, with AMD 4.6 billion, fourth and 40th.

Seven banks are among Top 100 taxpayers. They are Converse Bank, with its AMD 3.6 billion transferred to the government budget, Armeconombank, with AMD 3.2 billion, ArmSwissbank, with AMD 2.9 billion, Unibank, with AMD 2.8 billion, Araratbank, with AMD 2.4 billion, HSBC Bank Armenia, with AMD 2.4 billion, and VTB Bank (Armenia), with around AMD 2.3 billion.

In total, the country’s 1,000 large taxpayers have sent to the government budget over AMD 1 061.2 billion in 2019. This is 14.5% or AMD 134.5 billion more than in 2018. ($1 – AMD 478.6). -0–
